Looking for some new and unique music to accompany your holiday activities? Check out the new Christmas CD, “Sounds of the Season,” by the ensemble “Brass.”
Available in disc format and downloadable from iTunes, Google Play, and Amazon Music, “Sounds of the Season” includes 25 original arrangements of traditional Advent/Christmas music and popular holiday standards performed by the New Haven-based brass quintet, including seven arrangements available in downloadable sheet music format from Con Spirito Music.
Here’s a sample track from the album — the Medieval plainsong melody “Divinum Mysterium,” known as “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” from the text by the early Roman Christian poet Aurelius Clemens Prudentius (348-413 AD).
In addition to “Of the Father’s Love Begotten,” “Sounds of the Season” includes Con Spirito Music’s arrangements of “Salvation is Created,” “Comfort, Comfort Ye, My People,” “A la Nanita Nana,” “Blest Mary Walks Amid the Thorn,” “Two French Carols,” and “Veni, Veni Emmanuel.”
The ensemble “Brass” was an early advocate and encouragement as Con Spirito Music launched and grew. For more information on “Sounds of the Season,” including a complete track listing and links to order a CD or download the album, follow this link.
